Mandy Bagwell’s artwork has been called a reflection of the artist herself; it is whimsical, it is colorful and it radiates a positive energy. She has combined a natural gift with hard work and dedication, sucessfully transforming a childhood hobby into a rewarding career.

Mandy grew up in Selma, Alabama and spent much of her youth painting and creating. She found anything in arm’s reach subject to creative direction.

After graduating from Auburn University, Mandy moved to Montgomery, Alabama to pursue a teaching career. However, anticipating the birth of her first child, the creative mommy-to-be returned to her paints, envisioning a nursery for her son that paralleled the colorful designs of her own childhood. It was this project that brought Mandy back to creating and painting in what became known as “The Dining Room Studio.”

From there, Mandy started M. Bagwell Art, where she continues to create new collections. She has built a successful business in specialty stores across the country. Her secret to success is blending fun, festive looks with functional items.

Mandy now enjoys being a full-time artist. She never tires of creating new pieces for current collections and also loves the challenge of designing something new. She has three children who continue to inspire her daily.
